Organizations that move into DITA as part of an acquisition or adopt DITA from Day-1 face a similar challenge. What do we need to develop or customize in our markup and in our processing tool chain to brand our deliverables? Neither the DITA 1.3 spec nor the DITA Open Toolkit documentation have a section devoted to branding, so each organization needs to muddle through the process of identifying what needs to happen in the XML and in the toolkit. This presentation provides an overview of what is involved with branding in DITA and some best practices to jumpstart your branding effort.
